This workshop will address legal issues and best practices related to education and law enforcement collaboration.
Topics will include:
-Addressing the sensitive issue of race relations law enforcement and equitable justice
-The scope of issues that are governed by the Memorandum of Agreement
-The resources available to assist with crisis prevention and management
-Search and Seizure Issues, includes a discussion of Probable Cause vs. Reasonable Suspicion Stds
- Explanation of the process applied to students/staff if they are arrested
- Parameters of student confidentiality
- Areas that require mandatory reporting to law enfor. and other permissive areas
- Legal reqs related to student safety
- Role of the School Resource Officer
