New school counselors need to know what does a highly skilled school counselor look like and how do they develop over time to achieve that goal.Ê During this workshop, new school counselors will learn about observations, evaluation instruments (e.g., NJSCA School Counselor Evaluation Model), artifacts, and other elements of the evaluation process.Ê School counselors will learn how to align their practice to meet the needs of the school in which they work, while at the same time achieving their end-of-year evaluation requirements.Ê New school counselors will learn about data and how to present findings to stakeholders, such as their board of education.Ê A brief overview during this workshop will go through lesson planning, and alignment of the school counseling program to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) national standards (Mindsets & Behaviors).
