The Matrix is a powerful model of teaching and training social and emotional learning for classrooms and schools. It is a highly user friendly intervention developed to improve social skills for individuals and groups. it has a research base popularly known as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Training (ACT) . The matrix is introduced as a visual-verbal tool that effectively engages students in learning and can be implemented at the elementry and secondary levels. It is being used successfully in many school and educational settings to prom ote self-monitoring, problem-solving and prosocial behavior. Teachers and educators using it report less disruptions and greater cooperation from students.
