*Educating Students with Complex Disabilities Within the General Education Setting
Nov 14, 2017; 9 am - 3 pm at FEA
Presenter: Jerry G. Petroff, PhD, Professor, The College of New Jersey, School of Education in the Dept of Special Education
Fee: $149.00

The professional literature is replete with evidence that educating students with complex disabilities in local schools can be a benefit to all students, with or without disabilities. Often, however, we believe that these students belong somewhere else because general education classrooms cannot be equipped to provide a unique and specialized education for students with moderate-severe intellectual disabilities or other low incidence disabilities. This session is designed to challenge this belief and to provide examples of where this is working and suggest ways in which a student with complex disabilities can be appropriately educated within a general education classroom.
